Volunteer Florida Foundation

The Volunteer Florida Foundation raises funds to support Volunteer Florida, helping administer high-impact national service programs and promote volunteerism throughout the state, while managing the Florida Disaster Fund, Florida’s private fund established to assist communities with disaster recovery. The Foundation is also responsible for the Governor’s special initiatives, including the Black History Month and Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations, as well as awards that honor Florida’s outstanding volunteers, educators, health care professionals and veterans.

Governor's Initiatives

Donations to the Foundation support Volunteer Florida’s important work and the following Governor’s special initiatives:

Volunteer Florida thanks our sponsors, whose generous support makes it possible for us to continue serving Florida's communities and making the state a better place to live. Our sponsors provide support for the governor’s special initiatives, such as the Governor’s Shine Award, Governor’s Veterans Service Award and the Champion of Service Award. Sponsors also provide critical donations to the Florida Disaster Fund, which aids Floridians impacted by disasters, like Hurricanes Irma and Michael.

The Volunteer Florida Foundation’s activities are guided by a voluntary board of directors.
