Volunteer Florida Foundation

The Volunteer Florida Foundation is a non-profit established as a direct support organization for Volunteer Florida. The Foundation raises funds to support Volunteer Florida’s programs, which put national service and volunteers to work in schools and communities across the state. The Foundation also supports special Governor’s initiatives, including Florida’s Black History Month and Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations, as well as honoring our state’s outstanding volunteers, veterans, and educators.

Governor's Initiatives

Donations to the Foundation support Volunteer Florida’s important work and the following Governor’s special initiatives:

Black History Month Celebration

Each year, Florida celebrates the important contributions African-Americans have made, and continue to make, to the Sunshine State. At the conclusion of Florida Black History Month, Governor Scott hosts a special event to honor three exemplary African-American educators, along with three student essay contest winners, and two student art winners. Volunteer Florida is grateful for the generosity of all of our sponsors, including the Florida Lottery, a Supporting Sponsor of the Florida Black History Month Celebration.

volflorida_donations Volunteer Florida thanks our sponsors, whose generous support makes it possible for us to continue to serve Florida families and recognize our state’s outstanding volunteers, veterans, and educators. Our sponsors provide support for special Governor’s initiatives, such as the Governor’s Shine Award, Governor’s Veterans Service Award, and the Champion of Service Award. Sponsors also provide critical funding for the Florida Disaster Fund, which serves Floridians impacted by disasters such as hurricanes, tornados, and flooding.
