The Volunteer Florida Foundation, a non-profit established as a direct support organization for Volunteer Florida, raises funds to support Volunteer Florida’s programs. The Foundation also supports special Governor’s initiatives, including Florida’s Black History Month and Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations, as well as honoring Florida’s outstanding volunteers, veterans, and educators.

The Volunteer Florida Foundation also administers the Florida Disaster Fund, the State of Florida’s official private fund established to assist Florida’s communities as they respond to and recover during times of emergency or disaster. In partnership with the public sector, private sector and other non-governmental organizations, the Florida Disaster Fund supports response and recovery activities.

“Giving back to the communities we serve is a reflection of our corporate values and a commitment for all of us at FPL,” said Wade Litchfield. “I am honored to join the Volunteer Florida Foundation board and be part of an organization that shares our commitment to making Florida an even better place to do business and raise a family.”
