Wade Litchfield is Vice President and General Counsel for Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) with responsibility for all FPL legal matters. Mr. Litchfield has served as lead counsel in many FPL matters, including base rate cases, storm cost recovery dockets, and power plant certifications. Prior to joining FPL, Mr. Litchfield was senior counsel for Entergy Corporation in New Orleans. Mr. Litchfield is admitted to the New York and Louisiana bars and practices in Florida as Authorized House Counsel. A native of Alberta, Canada, Mr. Litchfield holds a bachelor’s degree (cum laude) in economics from Brigham Young University, a law degree (2nd class Honors) from McGill University, Montreal, Canada, and an MBA from Tulane University (Beta Gamma Sigma).
Mr. Litchfield is a member of Leadership Florida, Class XXXIII and Executive Class VII, and chaired the 2015-2016 Executive Class IX. He served as the United Way/iPledge chairman for Florida Power & Light’s Palm Beach County campaign in 2014. From 2006-2015, Mr. Litchfield also served in a voluntary ecclesiastical position as President of the Stuart Florida Stake for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mr. Litchfield chaired An Evening of Hope: Florida Unites to End Human Trafficking, bringing awareness to the human trafficking crisis in Florida through a November 10, 2016 educational event that was live-streamed to more than 35 campuses representing 18 Florida colleges and universities. Mr. Litchfield’s current activities include serving as a Board Member with Bella’s Angels, Inc., a Florida non-profit organization assisting families with CHARGE syndrome and other rare disorders. He also serves as a volunteer coordinator for the program JustServe.org for South Florida, a web-based platform bringing service needs and volunteers together.
