TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, Volunteer Florida expressed its appreciation to Governor DeSantis for his continued support of national service and volunteerism, benefitting the entire Sunshine state.
“Communities throughout Florida benefit from the good work of those who selflessly serve the state. There is a significant monetary and mental health value to both the givers and the receivers,“ said Volunteer Florida CEO Corey Simon. “Thanks to Governor DeSantis for his commitment to funding this work, investing in service and supporting local communities in our state through our work in national service, volunteer services, and emergency management.”
With funding through the Department of Education and the Florida Department of Emergency Management, Volunteer Florida will be able to enhance its reach throughout the state, supporting the development of service and volunteer programs to build the natural capacity of Florida communities.
Through our work, Volunteer Florida delivers high-impact volunteer programs and opportunities that engage Floridians, transform communities and make the state a better place to live.
