Administered by Volunteer Florida, the Volunteer Generation Fund is an initiative of AmeriCorps that invests in volunteer engagement practices designed to increase the recruitment and retention of volunteers while strengthening organizations’ ability to address community needs through service.
For the 2026-2027 grant year, Volunteer Florida is seeking to support Long-Term Recovery Groups (LTRGs) or similar organizations, as well as organizations engaging Veteran and military family volunteers. Funding is intended to help organizations strengthen volunteer programs, expand recruitment and engagement efforts, enhance disaster preparedness and community resilience, and build long-term organizational capacity.
“As Florida’s lead agency for volunteerism and service, we recognize the essential role volunteers play in strengthening our communities,” said Volunteer Florida CEO Josie Tamayo. “We are proud to invest in organizations that are expanding volunteerism, strengthening their capacity to engage volunteers effectively and building more resilient communities across our state.”
Eligible applicants include Florida-based public or private nonprofit organizations, including faith-based and community organizations; institutions of higher education; governmental entities; labor organizations; partnerships and consortia; and Indian Tribes.
Application Deadline
Applications must be submitted through Volunteer Florida’s Blackbaud Grantmaking online portal no later than 5:00 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered for funding.

Technical Assistance
