Autumn Karlinsky was appointed and reappointed by Florida Governor Rick Scott and confirmed by the Florida Senate to the Governor’s Commission on Community Service, Volunteer Florida, numerous times since 2011. In 2014, Commissioner Karlinsky was elected by fellow Commissioners to serve as the Chair of the Volunteer Florida Commission from 2014 – 2016 and Vice Chair of the commission from 2016 – 2018. Commissioner Karlinsky was elected again in 2018 to serve as the Commission Chair. In 2015, Commissioner Karlinsky was awarded the Innovation & Leadership Award as an Outstanding Commissioner by America’s Service Commissions.
Commissioner Karlinsky holds leadership and advisory positions in various local, state and national organizations. Commissioner Karlinsky and her husband Fred endowed the Florida State University College of Law Karlinsky Family Scholarship. The Scholarship provides support to incoming law students. In addition, the Karlinskys endowed the Karlinsky Family Student Lounge in the FSU College of Law Advocacy Center.
Commissioner Karlinsky has served with the Barbara Bush Foundation For Family Literacy, the Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies Coalition of Broward County, Temple Dor Dorim and Imagine Charter School at Weston. Commissioner Karlinsky has actively participated in the Barbara Bush Foundation For Family Literacy on the Steering Committee during the Children’s Celebration of Reading event since 2012. Commissioner Karlinsky and her husband co-chaired the Celebration of Reading event in 2017. Commissioner Karlinsky has been an advocate and supporter of Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies coalition of Broward county since 2014. In 2015, Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies of Broward County honored Commissioner Karlinsky as a Mother Of The Year.
In 2009 and 2010, Commissioner Karlinsky planned and executed the Temple Dor Dorim Annual Fundraising Gala benefiting Kids in Distress. She also served as Vice President of CHAI, the parent-teacher organization at Temple Dor Dorim Early Childhood Center and chaired various fundraising committees to support the Early Childhood Center programming.
Commissioner Karlinsky has actively volunteered on the Parent-Teacher Partnership Board at Imagine Charter School at Weston since 2008. She previously served as Gala Chair, Fun Run Chair, Special Education Chair to Red Ribbon Week, Book Fair Chair, Room Mom, Character Education Week Chair and Teacher Appreciation Chair. She also chairs fundraising events on behalf of the Parent-Teacher Partnership, which has raised money for technology, books, sound system and numerous other provisions for the school.
Commissioner Karlinsky has been a Certified Dental Assistant since 1993 and a Registered Dental Hygienist in Florida since 1997. In addition, she has been a member of the Dental Assisting National Board since 1993 and a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association since 1997.
Commissioner Karlinsky resides in Weston, Florida, with her husband Fred and their two children. In addition to her volunteer work, Autumn finds quality time to spend with her family and friends
