AVENTURA, Fla. — Benihana Inc., the nation’s leading operator of Japanese-inspired teppanyaki and sushi restaurants, will donate ten percent of our Florida and Atlanta-area Benihana and RA Sushi Restaurant revenues from Saturday, Sept. 23 through Monday, Sept. 25. These proceeds will benefit Volunteer Florida.

“In the wake of the pain and devastation caused by Hurricane Irma, we want to help people rebuild as quickly as possible,” said Benihana Chief Executive Officer and President, Tom Baldwin. We have strong and deep roots in Florida with our headquarters located in Aventura. Our Florida employees, active members of their communities, were also personally affected. We strive to enhance and engage with our community.”

Volunteer Florida is dedicated to mobilizing and deploying resources assisting those responding to and recovering from the hurricane. “We chose this organization because they have been critical in helping staff shelters and facilitating clean-up efforts,” said Baldwin.

Ten Benihana, one Samurai and two RA Sushi Florida restaurants will be participating in the effort. Additionally, all three Atlanta-area Benihana restaurants and the one Atlanta RA Sushi restaurant will be also participating.
