Volunteer Florida Announces Research Study on the Nature of Volunteerism Available for Download

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –Volunteering is an effective, enduring mainspring of American civil society. Volunteers strengthen and broaden the work of organizations in the public and independent sectors and consistently, informally support and care for those around them. The value of service is not solely external; those who impact their world by volunteering realize invaluable personal and relational benefits.

To better understand the nature of volunteerism in Florida specifically, researchers at the University of Florida worked with Volunteer Florida to develop, implement, and analyze a scientific, quantitative survey of a random sample of Florida residents.
