With more than 20 years in finance and over 10 years in executive leadership, Ms. Wheelock brings a new strategic focus and proven team success to Special Olympics Florida. In her role as President and CEO of Special Olympics Florida, Ms. Wheelock has expanded the program from $8 million to $14 million and has introduced unprecedented competitive opportunities across the state. Under her leadership, Special Olympics Florida has grown by 62% and now serves more than 35,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities across the state. Before being named President and CEO of Special Olympics Florida, Ms. Wheelock served on the organization’s Board of Directors for 5 years and was named Board Chairwoman in 2011. During her time on the board she was active in fundraising and participated as an assistant coach of swimming and golf with Special Olympics Florida in Orange County.

She has recently been re-appointed to the Governor’s Commission, Volunteer Florida, awarded the exceptional 2015 USTA Florida Presidents Award and has actively served on the CARF International Board. Previously, Ms. Wheelock served as Vice President and Treasurer of Universal Orlando, managing $1.5 billion in debt and all related cash flow requirements. She has also served on the boards of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and North Florida and the Universal Orlando Foundation. Ms. Wheelock has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Baylor University and has earned a Certified Public Accountant license in the State of Florida.
