We are proud to highlight VF grantee Teach For America Jacksonville. Thanks to TFA Jacksonville, 180 corps members are teaching in more than 40 of Jacksonville’s highest need schools and 150 alumni are impacting Duval County, reaching more than 16,000 students.

“Teach For America Jacksonville is so grateful for Volunteer Florida’s partnership in supporting our almost 350 corps members and alumni working to establish equity in education across our city,” said TFA Jacksonville Executive Director Darryl Willie. “With their support, our teachers are able to impact students every year and create innovative ways to bring excellent educational opportunities to students in high-need classrooms.”

Kaitlyn Christianson, 2014 TFA Jacksonville AmeriCorps member, is proud that 90 percent of her seniors passed a new online course required for graduation in 2014. Kaitlyn stayed after school nearly every day providing her students with the support and tools they needed to successfully complete the online program. Kaitlyn’s dedication to her students exemplifies the service and impact for which TFA Jacksonville is widely recognized.

TFA’s work is driven by the belief that one day, all children will have the opportunity to attain an excellent education.

VF is proud to call Teach for America Jacksonville not only one of our grantees, but an outstanding partner in our efforts to #ServeFL.
