Volunteer Florida is proud to showcase Branches, a Volunteer Florida grantee. Branches serves K-12th grade students through the Grow and Climb programs in the Miami-Dade County area, focusing on reading comprehension and critical math skills. In the Grow Program, K-5th grade students receive tutoring, homework assistance and creative enrichment activities led by AmeriCorps members throughout the week. In the Climb Program, middle school and high school students receive academic tutoring and support, as well as mentorship in life skills, service projects and personal development. 94% of students tutored through the Branches program improved academic performance in literacy or math. 100% of the students consistently engaged in the Branches program graduate high school, and 88% go on to pursue post-secondary education.
