What kind of volunteering do you do? I did a year of service in Guatemala working in a school for child laborers. Currently I volunteer with refugee families, and I train people to reach out to their legislators and build their civic muscle.  I love community organizing!

What’s your favorite sports team? Is musical theater a sport?

What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever done? True answer: having a baby. Cool answer: I was pulled out of the audience during a performance in London’s West End to play Ophelia in a comedic version of Hamlet. I also performed on stage in NYC, and participated in a bilingual production in Guatemala on women’s empowerment.

What are you thankful for? My supportive family, my daughter Celeste Quetzali, my health, and the opportunities I have had to travel, meet people, and continue to learn about the world.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received? When you have faith in people, it makes them stronger.

Who is your hero? My husband, Ruben. He is the smartest, kindest, and best person.
