Judi Spann, APR, CPRC, is an experienced public relations and communications professional. As the wife of a retired Naval officer, she had the opportunity to travel the world, living in two foreign countries, and experience many diverse cultures. This also allowed her to use her public relations skills in a variety of fields. She currently serves as Director of Marketing and Communications for the American Board of Perianesthesia Nursing Certification, Inc.

She has held communications positions with a number of organizations including the U.S. Naval Academy Foundation, JEA, the Florida Society of Ophthalmology, three Florida state agencies (the Department of State, the Department of Health, the Department of Children and Families), the FSU Foundation, and the Florida Institute of CPAs.

Spann has particular expertise in media relations and crisis communications. She has National Incident Management System (NIMS) training and has worked in both state and local EOCs (Emergency Operation Center). She holds two respected credentials in public relations: APR (Accredited in Public Relations) and CPRC (Certified Public Relations Counselor).

Her volunteer passions include serving as: a guardian ad litem, representing abused and neglected children in dependency cases; a member of the Mayor’s Advisory Commission on Television, Motion Picture and Commercial Production; and as an active member of the Florida Public Relations Association.

Judi holds a B.A. in English from Washington College in Maryland. Her husband, Bill, is the Director of Military Services and Veterans Affairs for the City of Jacksonville. Her son, Dylan, graduated from Flagler College and her daughter, Kirstin, graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and is a U.S. Marine Corps Officer.
