What kind of volunteering do you do? I sit on the board for the Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross. I’m also an active member of the Junior League of Tallahassee. I am a life-time Girl Scout and volunteer with a local troop as well as serve with my church.

What’s your favorite sports team? I love the Florida State Seminoles! But growing up in Miami I grew up a huge Marlin’s fan!

What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever done? Picking the coolest thing I’ve ever done is difficult, I’d have to say all of my travel experiences offer unique opportunities. I studied and lived in Salamanca, Spain for six months while in college and that experience was amazing! Through that I’ve met friends from all around the world and have had many opportunities to visit them and experience their culture first hand and those are some of my favorite opportunities.

What are you thankful for? Not only am I extremely thankful for my family, I’m extremely thankful that all of my immediate family, as well as my grandparents live within walking distance of one another.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received? In the storms of life, we must learn to be like the willow and not the pine tree. The pine tree stands firm in the storm and will often fall while the willow will sway with the wind and so it survives.

Who is your hero? My mom and my dad! They both taught my siblings and me to be independent and strong. My dad was an exile to this country as a young boy and he worked hard and accomplished so much for our family. He taught me that no dream was too big.
