What kind of volunteering do you do? I love all kinds of volunteering! All forms of volunteering and service are equally as important and beneficial to creating a better world. Before relocating to Tallahassee, I was a project leader for HandsOn Miami. I have been a Peace Corps Volunteer in Burkina Faso, an AmeriCorps VISTA at the University of Miami, and created a service organization when I was in undergrad. I can’t wait to see what Tallahassee has in store for me.

What’s your favorite sports team? Any and all sports teams that come from the best state in the union: Indiana! This includes but are not limited to the Indiana Pacers, Indianapolis Colts, and Indiana University basketball.

What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever done? When I was in high school my father, brother, and I got to scuba dive in the aquarium at Epcot. The diving was really fun and adventurous, but we also got a behind the scenes tour of Disney World!

What are you thankful for?  My family, friends, and my health. I am also thankful for the opportunities I was exposed to as a child/young adult that helped shape my love of service.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received? The Golden Rule: Treat others as you want to be treated.

Who is your hero?  I have no one hero. Everyone has touched some part of my life. As Mr. Rogers said, “Anyone who does anything to help a child in his life is a hero to me.
