DEPUTY ASSISTANT TO THE
PRESIDENT and Director
of USA Freedom Corps Henry Lozano presented a President's Volunteer
Service Award to Ernest Burnes during the opening session of
the 2008 Florida AmeriCorps and National Service Conference May 17.
Mr. Burnes, who did not know he was receiving
the award, is a committed volunteer with AmeriCorps American
Red Cross of Greater Miami and the Keys. After receiving his award,
Mr. Burnes humbly thanked all 600 AmeriCorps members in attendance for their
service!
"That's the sign of a true leader ... to receive
an award for service, then turn around and thank others for their service," said
Lozano.
