This month, Volunteer Florida is proud to showcase the Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies Coalition of Broward County!

HMHBB is dedicated to reducing infant deaths by strengthening families through prenatal care, parenting, education and support services.

HMHBB advocates for improving access to health care, providing health education and family support, increasing public awareness of healthy behaviors, and helping parents and professionals understand how to prevent infant deaths and improve maternal/child health. The agency serves more than 5,000 individuals each year.

Volunteer Florida Chair Autumn Karlinsky, who was honored as Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies’ Outstanding Mother of the Year in 2015, recently nominated First Lady Ann Scott for the 2016 Mother of the Year Award.

“It was my pleasure to nominate the First Lady of Florida to be a Mother of the Year Honoree during this special luncheon and to join her as she graciously accepted this honor,” said Chair Karlinsky. “Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies is an extraordinary organization that works to save lives, inspire hope, and keep our most vulnerable little ones safe and healthy and the First Lady embodies these goals.”
