Danny Bob Berenberg is a senior partner in the firm of GiftCounsel.com. Mr. Berenberg’s counsels clients – principally Symphony Orchestras, Museums, Arts organizations, Zoos, Educational Institutions, Medical Organizations, and Social Service agencies – in strategic planning, capital campaign planning and management, major gift solicitation, donor research and development system audits.
Mr. Berenberg graduated from the University of Minnesota with a major in Economics and received his Juris Doctor from University of Minnesota Law School. He is licensed before the United States Supreme Court and in the State of Minnesota. In 1993 Mr. Berenberg was an early recipient of the designation – Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE).
Mr. Berenberg has long term experience in organizing major public-private capital campaigns. Most recent campaigns include the Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts (a $70 million campaign) and the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens (a $50 million campaign).
Mr. Berenberg serves on several nonprofit boards and a number of corporate boards. He has received the Minnesota Human Rights Award, the World Gold Quill Award of Excellence, the American Honor Spirit Medal, the Omar Bonderud Human Rights Award, and the March of Dimes Distinguished Citizen award. He is a founding partner in the firm of GiftCounsel.com, a firm with practice limited to capital development and philanthropic management. This firm specializes in the development of major gift programs, capital campaigns and planned giving programs. Mr. Berenberg recently completed a statewide lecture tour focusing on successful fund-raising in an economic downturn for the Governor and sponsored by Volunteer Florida.
