Joyce Hobson, a former member of the Martin County School Board and Director of Administration for the Florida Department of Education, is now the Director of Faith, Community and Family Initiatives for the Bureau of Family and Community Outreach. Joyce works with local communities, school districts, schools, and faith-based organizations within the state to foster partnerships and to provide these organizations with tools that will enable them to promote parent involvement in their schools and communities. Joyce has been with the Department of Education since 1995 and has worked tirelessly promoting and supporting academic achievement for all of Florida’s children.
Joyce graduated from Florida Atlantic University with Bachelors degree in Business Administration in December, 1975. She opened her own accounting and tax practice in 1978. In 1995, she sold her business and moved to Tallahassee to dedicate her energies to education.
