Ted Granger received his Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University in 1978, and later received his Juris Doctor degree from the same esteemed institution. After “hanging his shingle” and engaging in general civil and criminal trial litigation for three years, he was hired by the Florida Senate as a legislative analyst with the Commerce Committee.
In 1986, he joined the Florida Chamber of Commerce as the Vice President of Government Relations and, after four years, left to become President of the United Way of Florida. The United Way of Florida is a statewide association representing Florida’s 34 United Ways on Florida legislative and administrative issues, policy development for the Florida State Employees’ Charitable Campaign, and implementation of developmental programs for local United Way organizations.
Among others, Ted is Chair of the One Voice for Children Database Committee; the FEMA State Set-Aside Committee; the Healthy Families Florida Statewide Advisory Committee; the Children’s Week Planning Committee; the Budget Committee of the Clearinghouse on Human Services; and the Children’s Summit Planning Committee. He is past chair of the State Coordinating Council for Early Childhood Services and the Florida Interagency Coordinating Council for Infants and Toddlers. Ted currently sits on the Board of Directors of: The Florida Alliance of Information and Referral Services; the TEAM Florida Coordinating Council; the Florida Network on Adolescent Pregnancy, Parenting and Prevention; the Policy Group for Florida’s Families and Children; and is a consultant for the Florida PTA.
He and his wife, Ellen, reside in Tallahassee with their two sons, 16-year-old Colin and 14-year-old Nathan.
