  AMERICORPS engages 75,000 Americans age 17 and older each year in intensive service to meet community needs. It's an incredible opportunity to make a difference in your life and in the lives of those around you. It's a one- to two-year commitment to National Service that will challenge you to put your skills and ideals to work while helping others.
As an AmeriCorps member, you can address community needs in education, the environment, public safety, social services, homeland security, and other areas. Members also serve in national nonprofit organizations like Habitat for Humanity, the American RedCross, and Teach for America, as well as with hundreds of smaller community organizations, both secular and faith based.
Whether your service makes a community safer, gives a child a second chance, or helps to protect the environment, you have the ability to find solutions and make a difference!
