VF grantee AmeriCorps NWFL Environmental Stewards completed an excellent day of service to restore part of the Choctawhatchee watershed. In conjunction with 20 Okaloosa and Walton County Schools, AmeriCorps members serving with NWFL Environmental Stewards have improved over 38 acres of sensitive environmental areas, recruited 350 volunteers, and served over 286 hours!

Over 1,860 Okaloosa and Walton County students have received the “Grasses in Classes” curriculum, which teaches Florida students about the importance of being good stewards of Florida’s natural resources.

We are proud of the impact of NWFL Environmental Stewards, the AmeriCorps members who are serving, and the students who are assisting!
